Summary | It is an imperial order to the governor of Egypt concerning the purchase of two ships constructed at the Suez shipyard by Janissary Mehmed Kethuda for his own trade. The governor of Egypt had sent a petition to the imperial center the previous year to approve the purchase of these ships and to put them into service for the provisioning of holy cities. The imperial center approved the purchase of the ship, called Ezheri, with a capacity of 8500 irdab for 122 mısri kises and 5000 para and the other ship, called Aşur (عاشور), with the capacity 7000 irdab for 108 mısri kises. The total cost of 230 mısri kises would be covered by the remittance treasure (irsaliyye-i hazine of Egypt) of 1157. |
